Strymon Lex Rotary
Descrizione
The Strymon Lex Rotary has one goal: make a digital copy of the much-loved rotary speaker system so accurate, it could take over the world. Every original component has been painstakingly twinned in software to create a sound that's virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. The unmistakable tremolo-vibrato warmth created by these hulking rotary amplifiers and speakers were originally developed for organs but were quickly used for guitars and even vocals (think John Lennon on 'Tomorrow Never Knows'). Strymon have managed to encapsulate this sound in a single, highly tweakable stompbox that takes up no more space than a corner of your pedalboard. To perform this otherwise impossible task, Strymon have harnessed the immense power of the SHARC DSP.
The Fool-Proof Lex Rotary
The exceptionally convincing effects produced by the Strymon Lex Rotary can be precisely tweaked using just four pots that offer control over no less than eight possible settings. To access the four secondary functions, simply hold down both footswitches at the same time; now you can adjust parameters like the rotation speed of both the Fast and Slow rotor modes. This pedal even offers control over virtual microphone positioning and distance; the preamp drive (for that familiar and fat growl) and the start/stop speed of the rotor. Of course, you could just as easily flip the rotor from fast to slow using the left footswitch.
The Ins and Outs
The back panel of the Lex Rotary is fitted with four sockets. Send a mono signal through the input or flip the internal switch to send a stereo signal. Send mono sound from the stompbox via the left output, or split and send the separate woofer and horn sound to two external speakers by hooking them up to the left and right output. An expression pedal port is provided so that a further eight settings can be remotely adjusted in real-time and, if you're not into expression pedals, the EXP port can be used to add a Strymon Favorite pedal (not included), so you can instantly call up your favourite setting. Enable and disable the effect using the Bypass footswitch or apply the breaks or accelerate the effect using the Slow/Fast switch.
