Meinl Helix Bowl, Bill Saragosa Line
Descrizione
The Helix Bowl is a unique instrument from Meinl's Bill Saragosa line. It consists of a helix welded to a resonating bowl, made of a special steel alloy and finished in a Black Nickel colour. With this Helix Bowl you can create a wide range of sounds, and it can even produce a wah-wah-effect. The sound it makes is most accurately described as a metallic didgeridoo sound. In other words, it sounds pretty unique.
Playing the Helix Bowl
You play the Helix Bowl by grabbing the bowl between your thumb and your middle and ring fingers, leaving your index finger free. In your other hand you hold the metal beater, that has a soft and a hard side, and drag it along the helix. With your index finger you can mute the tones if you so desire and finally, by moving the bowl forward and back, you can create a wah-wah effect.
