With this Jingle Stick, Meinl has once again delivered a great-sounding instrument. Fitted with six pairs of brass jingles, the Meinl JG1B-BK offers a beautiful and warm sound. The soft, padded handle allows for excellent grip and enhanced playing comfort. Its frame is made of highly durable ABS plastic, and features a guiro-style playing surface that allows for great rattling and scraping effects. You can even use the jingle stick as a beater or mallet for a wide range of percussion instruments. A combination of two Jingle Sticks also allows for a fun effect, as is shown in the video you can find under the 'videos' tab.

Meinl JG1B-BK Jingle Stick:

Sound-wise, this instrument is best compared to a tambourine - the biggest difference being the shape. Its straight shape makes a Jingle Stick a bit easier to hold than a tambourine, allowing for more playing comfort. Furthermore, a tambourine often has a minimum of 12 pairs of jingles, whereas a Jingle Stick usually has no more than eight pairs. Obviously, this has its effect on the instrument's overall sound and volume. As such, a Jingle Stick is an excellent alternative when a tambourine is too loud, or when you're looking for something that's a bit more practical and subtle.
