New groovebox models don't come out every day, so when they come from experienced groovebox-builders like Polyend, it's worth paying attention. With the Medusa synth and the Play+ and Tracker sequencer models under their belt already, Polyend now present the Synth: a continuance of the Play+ that might be smaller and might be cheaper, but still brings a mountain of potential.
The Polyend Synth
Inside the Polyend Synth lie no-less-than eight synthesizer engines, three of which can be used at the same time. Every engine can be tweaked in every which way, so we're not just talking about quick and dirty, lightly tweakable engines here, but real, fully-fledged synths. And, when it comes to playing this extensive instrument, you get a tactile army of performance pads that aren't just velocity sensitive but come polished off with polyphonic aftertouch - plenty of expressive potential right there. The heart of all of the fun, though, definitely lies in the on-board arpeggiator and sequencer and the chorus, delay and reverb effects that come built in. In short, this tight unit comes with more than enough to sink your teeth into.

Finition excellente, un regret : les prises minijack pour le Midi (mais 1 adaptateur fourni vers prise DIN) et l'audio out stereo (1 adaptateur fourni vers 2 jacks 6,35). Rapport qualité-prix excellent. Ergonomie très bonne, format compact, solide. Possibilités créatives très étendues avec un son excellent. Possibilité de connecter un clavier externe MIDI. Excellent pour l'Ambient. Alimentation possible par bank usb-c externe rendant l'appareil portable (cable fourni). Pour info le coverdesk est le même que celui du Tracker ou du Play et il rentre parfaitement avec son coverdesk dans une housse en mousse d'un iPad Pro ou d'un portable, le tout dans un sac à dos pour une portabilité max ...

Ik kon het niet laten. Nu een echte synthesizer aangeschaft met 8 Engines. De Polyend Synth. Een wonder uit Polen. Wat een uitvinding. Subliem in eenvoud. Slechts een tiental knoppen en een uitdagende set sensitieve oplichtende pads. Draaien, drukken en knallen. Het apparaat geeft direct wonderlijke mooie klanken. Ik ben momenteel nogal ambient georiënteerd en dit technisch vernuft bevredigt al mijn behoeften in de muzikale zone. Ik ben echt aan het kicken. Wat een lekker ding. Het neuriet, zingt, boeit, trilt, verlicht, streelt, jubelt en het doet de oren genieten van warme harmonische klanken. Een groot werelds koor zit ineens op bestelling op mijn schouders en betovert mijn oude maar gelukkige oren.
