As a bi-amp preamp pedal, The Bass Butler from Orange serves bassists more mid-range presence alongside the other instruments in the mix while fully maintaining all of the lows. With it, Orange offer a lightweight and compact solution that does away with the traditionally huge collection of big and bulky gear required to get your bass going. The Bass Butler includes two sections, Bass Guitar and Guitar, to make sure every last bit of tone is carefully preserved and reproduced. Since both feature a balanced XLR output and a number of individual cabinet simulations, all you need to do before you start slinging your bass lines is plug the Bass Butler into a stage box and off you go.
The Bass Butler: Easy, All-Front Presence
Outfitted with nine controls, this Orange preamp pedal basically presents you with an infinite variety of bass sounds on a silver platter. The two sections each come with individual volume, bass and treble pots but there are also a few specific knobs you can use to find the sweet spot: the Compression knob ensures the low frequencies retain their rich and balanced character; the Middle control ties the sound of your bass to the other instruments in the mix and the Gain can be turned up to help you punch right through the mix if needed. Using the Amp output, you can hook up the pedal to your combo or amp head, either on the stage or in the rehearsal room.

Na jaren met virtuele bas amps gewerkt te hebben in de studio, wilde ik gewoon weer knoppen voor me hebben om mijn basgeluid voor een productie te maken om daar dan ook gelijk mee op te nemen. Ruimte voor een amp met speakers heb ik niet, dus het ging tussen de "Vintage ultra" van Darkglass en "The bass butler" van Orange. De laatste is het uiteindelijk geworden vanwege de dubbele output met allebei een eigen cab sim en de compressor. En eigenlijk kreeg ik alleen bij deze gewoon een grote glimlach wanneer ik alleen maar het geluid hoorde bij een youtube review... Eigenlijk kan ik er heel kort over zijn: De cab sims zijn fantastisch! De compressor is fantastisch! Je wil eigenlijk maar éen ding als je hem aan zet en dat is "blijven spelen"!! Het is vooral de combinatie tussen het "Clean" kanaal en het "Dirty" kanaal, wat je het karakter geeft van deze fantastische preamp! En ook de beide Di outs zijn top! Ik zou zeggen: Kopen dat ding, beter wordt het niet, tenzij je de hele dag alleen maar fullblown metal wilt spelen, dan heeft darkglass genoeg opties!

This has been a great purchase. The bi amping really does have an effect, where the dirty channel really doesn't lose any of the low end. This has been a problem in other lone distortion pedals for me, even when a wet signal can be used. In any case, just using this straight into the mixing desk sounds great, not just
through my main live rig. Absolutely the best money spent on a pedal.
