When the Prophet '08 poly synth by Sequential (formerly known as Dave Smith Instruments) came out in 2007, it was an instant success that's been used in countless music productions since, earning it its well-deserved modern classic status. This time, Sequential presents the Prophet REV2, an 8-voiced polyphonic analogue synthesizer that's essentially a reincarnation of the original Prophet '08, but even better. This Desktop version can be used with your favourite MIDI controllers.
The Sequential Prophet REV2: Pure Playing Pleasure
The REV2 has two oscillators (DCO) per voice and each oscillator offers four waveforms (sawtooth, triangle, sawtooth + triangle, pulse). Furthermore, it offers hard sync and you've got a wide range of filters, envelopes and LFOs at your disposal. There's also a step sequencer and an arpeggiator, as well as modulation options galore. Naturally, this top-notch synth also has all the connection options you could possibly need to integrate it into your current setup. As a joke, Dave Smith called the REV2 a 'monster of a synth' but we agree that it truly is a beast in the best possible sense of the word!

This is a fantastic synth. Lord of depth and very easy to use. The build quality is excellent and the sounds is amazing, exactly as youd expect from Dave Smith.
J'ai acheté mon Prophet Rev2 sur Bax Music et d'un part j'en suis extrêmement satisfait car il a un son inimitable, d'autre part j'ai bénéficier d'une super promotion de -23 pour-cent ! Colis reçu en temps et en heure et emballé soigneusement.
Je recommande sur tous les points Bax Music.
Geweldige synthesizer! Gelijk de eerste dag al een nummer mee gemaakt. Super goed geluid, en het is echt een eindeloze bron van inspiratie. Een hele erge aanrader!
Aangekocht als B-Stock, maar in superconditie!
Grondige leessessie van de handleiding en wat experimenteren later ben ik nog altijd onder de indruk van de Prophet. Alhoewel 8 voices (4 als het gestacked is) soms wat weinig is, maken de sounds het wel goed.
De knoppen zijn overzichtelijk waardoor het menu-diving redelijk beperkt is. Dé reden waarom ik koos voor de Prophet rev2.
Het verzenden verliep vlot. Zoals gemeld was het er niet de volgende dag, maar duurde het door Corona een dagje langer. Slim gezien om me zo in spanning te laten wachten, Bax ;)

Le synthétiseur prophet REV 2 est une excellente machine.
Un synthé classique analogique avec un grain incomparable, le must!
Ik weet nog niet wat ik er van moet vinden. Ik zit zelfs te denken om hem in te ruilen voor een Roland System8. De reden is dat alles brazzy en fizzy klinkt door de curtis filter. Niet ideaal voor pads en atmosphere. Well voor Brass en Bass. Mechanisch een fantastisch product.
Een geweldig instrument. Je komt er steeds bij terug om weer wat hersenspinsels op uit te proberen. Het duurde een paar dagen voordat ik dat weer wist. Daarom was ik verslingerd aan mijn Prophet 600.
Ik had vroeger een Prophet 600 en een Multimoog op het podium. Van de Prophet meer plezier gehad dan de Moog. Nu nog gebruik ik enkele geluiden uit die oude Prophet die ik eerst gesampled had met een Ensoniq EPS16+ en daarna opnieuw gesampled met een EMU om de waves vervolgens nu in mijn Nord Electro op het podium te gebruiken. De Moog was goed voor vette leads maar ik zou met een nieuwe Moog lang niet al mijn solobehoeften kunnen bevredigen. Daarom werd het nu toch weer een Prophet. De Moog kan ik tzt makkelijk invullen met een goedkope Behringer Model D.
De eerste dagen met de Rev2 even zoeken. Oh ja, niet alles is mogelijk. Maar juist daarom waren we vroeger zo creatief. Het is een instrument op zicht. Iets dunner klinkend dan de P600 en de nieuwe Prophet 6 maar een stuk goedkoper en heel veel nieuwe mogelijkheden. Wel weer even wennen aan de lichte toetsaanslag.
Dave Smith maakt met de fabrieksgeluiden m.i. wel een foutje: In de meeste sounds is de filterfrequentie afhankelijk van de aanslag. Daardoor klinkt veel hetzelfde. Dat is raar want een Prophet 600 of een Multimoog waren niet eens aanslaggevoelig! Haal dat eruit en gebruik het filter op de after touch of Modwheel zoals een gitarist een vibrato op een enkele noot speelt! Zo deden we dat vroeger en zo krijg je levendige muziek.
Pfoe wat een machtig apparaat. hier ben je heel wat leuke uurtjes zoet mee voordat je alles tot in detail in praktijk kunt brengen. De buildquality is erg goed, voelt solide en mooi aan zoals zou moeten voor een apparaat in deze prijscategorie. Erg fijn dat je eventueel op een later moment nog een voice expansionkit kunt kopen om zo alsnog van 16 voices gebruik te kunnen maken. erg blij mee!
Zeer tevreden over dit produkt. Erg fijne synthesizer met ongelooflijk veel mogelijkheden.
De modulatiematrix en de geweldige filters maken het helemaal af.
Fijn spelend keyboard en mogelijkheid de 8 stemmen te upgraden naar 16.
Vroeger zelf een prophet 600, sixtrak ,tetra, mono evolver keys en drumtraks gehad en deze synth is voor mij de beste dave smith synth die ik ken.
En de prijs is ook goed eindelijk weer betaalbare analoge poylfone synths !!
Bax service ook zoals altijd top notch.

What an excellent instrument! The build quality is superb and the workflow is second to none. Dave Smith really knows how to make great synths. The rev2 can cover a really wide range of sounds, making it a very versatile poly at a reasonable price. I'm really happy with mine. It arrived quickly and Bax's customer service were really helpful.
