Studiologic Numa X Piano GT Stage Piano
Descrizione
A more deluxe edition of the Numa X 88, the Studiologic Numa X GT stage piano might offer the same options, but what it offers on top is the upgrade of a Fatar TP/400 keyboard with escapement as well as aftertouch. The housing has been finished with wooden side panels, so the design is just as luxurious as the playability. Also, since there was nothing wrong with it, the layout is much the same as the control panels of the SL-Series USB/MIDI keyboards that were released a few years back, so you're treated to a detailed, full-colour screen that conveniently matches the parameter colours with the encoders, supporting users with butter-smooth ease of use whether they're on stage or in the studio.
The Studiologic Numa X Piano GT
Since this is a professional stage piano, in terms of piano sounds, you get exactly the level of quality you'd expect, but this model also provides plenty of other sounds. You get everything from electric pianos to orchestral instruments, organs and more, and as soon as they're available, new sounds can be downloaded from Studiologic and added to expand the internal library. Another welcome feature of the Numa X is the inclusion of audio inputs, which can be used to connect up external audio sources before mixing them via the Numa X controls. Fitted with inputs, outputs, and a USB port, this piano can even serve as an audio interface, and on stage, a dynamic microphone can be plugged in via a jack input, as well as gear like a tablet so that pianists can perform with the support of backing tracks and samples. Designed and built for discerning and creative musicians, the Numa X nudges the entire series into a higher realm.

I've owned lots of stage pianos and currently also own a Yamaha CP88. The Studiologic Numa X GT caught my eye when it was launched and I took the plunge after seeing it on Bax Music's site at a great price. I have to say I'm very impressed. The key action took a day or two to play in a bit - it was initially a bit sluggish, but is now a very nice feeling weighted action. In the same ballpark as the CP88 and certainly superior to the related Fatar action in the Nord Piano, which is to be expected as it's Fatar's top action.
The Numa is a rewarding piano to play because the connection between the keyboard and the sound engine seems very well judged - it is responsive and pleasingly linear, just as it should be. The piano sounds respond very intuitively to the editable parameters and it feels alive. My only criticism is I'd like the piano note decays to be a little bit longer. But I do feel like I have a piano sound for pretty much any situation.
I've downloaded the newest piano sounds from Studiologic's website and it was a totally straightforward process to use the Numa Manager etc. The piano's overall level of functionality is amazing considering that it is a substantially cheaper piano than comparable Yamahas, Rolands and, especially, Nords. The onboard mixer for the four analogue inputs means that the Numa X can be a standalone solution for singer players and actually allows for greater flexibility than that should you need it. I've tried using the USB audio interface and dabbled with PianoTeq and Garritan CFX. It works flawlessly but I really strongly prefer the Numa's own piano sounds because they feel so connected. No stage piano is perfect - they are all a set of compromises but Studiologic has come up with a strong contender with the Numa X.
I feel like this has been a great purchase, with an experience through Bax Music that was really easy and brilliant value.
