Devine Drop Their New RX Series Studio Monitors
Specifically developed for the fledgling producer and music-maker, Devine drop their new RX Series studio monitors. This fat line up includes a range of six studio-fit near-fields and a matching subwoofer.
The Devine RX Studio Monitors
A few years back, the world was treated to two MR monitor sets: the MR-5A and the MR-6A. These serious monitors came loaded with 5-inch or 6-inch woofers and gave beginner producers, mixers, and masterers affordable access to the tools they needed to hone their craft. With the new RX line-up, Devine takes things a few steps further. Available with a 5, 6, or 8-inch woofer and finished in either black or white, these comprehensive monitors can now be partnered up with a matching, black or white 10-inch subwoofer.
An Accessible Beginner's Essential
Since standard hi-fi speakers give you a warped audio image, overblown bass, and inaccurate mids, they just can't cut it in a studio setting. To get a genuine, honest overview of what you're mixing, mastering, or just working on, a purpose-designed set of studio monitors are absolutely essential. The size of the woofer mounted in the monitor you go for should reflect the size of the room you're using it in, since the size of the woofer dictates the depth of the bass, and the lower the bass, the longer the physical soundwave. So, if you want a bigger woofer, you're going to need a bigger room. As such, a 5-inch woofer gives you more than enough bass in a medium sized bedroom, and if the room's a bit bigger, you might get away with a 6-inch woofer. If you're working in a space that's around the size of a large living room, then an 8-inch woofer might work, as long as it's placed facing the longest wall in the room.
Follow these simple rules, and you'll be able to pick out the right RX Series monitor depending on your situation. We wish all of those beginner producers and music-makers out there the very best, and to lend an extra helping hand, we've put together a few useful bundles including the RX Series monitors and woofers so that you can fully set yourself up.
