Reason 13 Has Been Announced!
Reason is a household name within the DAW-sphere and, over the years, has amassed a dedicated and diverse following. Since Reason 12 has already been around for a while, it's high time for the next phase in the Reason evolution: Reason 13.
What's New with Reason 13?
Tagging & browsing: These days, us humble musicians and producers have so many different sounds at our disposal, seeking out just the right thing can be a week-long mission. With the newly designed browser and tagging options, you can assign descriptions to sounds you've discovered and quickly look them up later.
Sequencer: Whether you're writing, producing or mixing, keeping an eye on the flow of your project is essential - the 'helicopter view' as it were. At the same time, the devil still lies in the details. Now, you can actually keep track of the bigger and the smaller picture with the help of two windows, one giving you an overview of all events and the other giving you a focussed view of everything happening in the event bar.
New looks: The whole package has been given a fresh lick of paint.
New sounds: There are new patches, samples, REX loops, demos and song starter templates provided. Polytone, a new virtual synth has been added to meet the needs of all vintage-synth-heads. We also get treated to three new reason tools: Sidechain, Gain and Stereo, and that's next to the addition of Ripley: a character-packed space-delay that boasts masses of sound-colouring potential.
Reason 13 is set for release on the 18th of June, 2024. There's also a grace-period that Reason users can take advantage of: if you purchased a version of Reason 12 (full version, or upgrade) in 2024, then you'll be entitled to a free upgrade to version 13. So, if you're thinking about investing in Reason 12, there's no need to hold back because, as soon as we reach the 18th of June, you can step over to Reason 13. It's as simple as that! With Reason + you'll also gain access to Reason 13.
"This is Ripley, signing off."
