A Fender bass guitar gains a cool, almost distinguished look and even better playability after getting older and more worn. Fender's Road Worn series guitars were designed to instantly provide you with the look and comfortable feel of instruments that have endured many years of tour bus abuse. This Road Worn '50s Precision Bass was modelled after Fender's popular and indestructable fifties classic. This P-Bass is fully retro, from its tinted maple neck and weathered nitrocellulose Sunburst lacquer to the aged hardware and gold-anodized pickguard.

Road Worn '50s Precision Bass: complete vintage style

This P-Bass is made after a years-old Fender recipe: a lightweight and comfortably contoured alder body to provide a balanced sound with neat basses, strong mids and sweet trebles. The guitar's neck is also made by vintage specifications, consisting of a single piece of maple and with a full and comfortable C-profile, 20 low narrow frets and a 7.25-inch fretboard radius. Even the vintage-correct hardware is accounted for with the reversed tuners, a classic 4-saddle bridge and aluminium pickguard. In short, the ideal solution to get close to the real thing without having to take up a second mortgage.

Straightforward workhorse

The Precision Bass is a simple yet effective instrument. And there's a good reason that this is model is one of Fender's most popular bass guitars since 1952. The Road Worn '50s Precision Bass is equipped with just one pickup to provide that characteristic P-Bass punch. The split single-coil pickup is made up of two parts that you can separately adjust in height to find the optimal balance in output between the separate strings. Thanks to the two coils this pickup also bucks the hum, ridding you of that typical 50Hz hum. Next to a volume knob, the bass has a tone knob that lets you add just that extra bit of warmth or clarity to its sound.
