The Ibanez Bass Workshop Series EHB1005SMS puts absolutely nothing in the way of slinging bass lines with effortless ease. This five-string bass not only has a headless design, but features a multi-scale fretboard that's been lined with fanned frets, where the scale length graduates from 30 to 32 inches for optimum playing comfort and string tension across the entire board. What's more, all of the above is supported by a super-stable, 5-piece roasted maple/walnut neck that comes reinforced with graphite rods, as well as the reduced weight of a chambered basswood body.
The Ibanez EHB1005SMS: Powered By Bartolini Pickups
Besides superb playability, the EHB1005SMS offers the mid-range-rich sound of two Bartolini BH2 pickups, which can be steered via the fitted balance, volume and 3-band EQ controls, the latter of which include a Vari-Mid switch for tweaking the depth, plus a push/pull treble pot that enables you to switch off the EQ altogether at will. As a welcome bonus, Ibanez even throws in a set of Schaller straplocks and a matching gig bag.
