Here, Ernie Ball Music Man level-up a definitive legend in the form of the StingRay4 Special HH. Refreshed and upgraded, the body of this next-gen bass has been treated to re-refined contours and loaded with a lightweight set of machine heads to ensure outstanding balance and improved playing comfort.
The StingRay4 Special HH: Neodymium Humbuckers
The StingRay 4 Special HH comes mounted with a pair of humbuckers finished with neodymium magnets for a deliciously thick, solid output that can be reined in and shaped in detail using the active 18V preamp and three-band EQ, and comes backed up by a sweet dose of headroom. Anything but one-sided, this fully-fledged StingRay can be made to swing from round and warm, to potent and punching.
The Details
Secured with five bolts instead of four, the roasted maple neck provides unshakable stability while firming up the overall tuning and enhancing presence and resonance. The heel has been softly rounded off to grant smooth and comfortable access to each of the 22 stainless-steel frets, while the back of the neck has been coated in a special wax blend for a butter-smooth, fast playing feel.
