The Tama MK52HZBNS-ISP Superstar Hyper-Drive Maple Indigo Sparkle shell set consists of five pieces. The core is made up of a 22 x 18-inch bass drum and a 14 x 5.5-inch snare drum. The term 'hyper-drive' refers to the smaller dimensions of the toms, which are 10 x 6.5 and 12 x 7 inches. These sizes translate to powerful sound and good response. A 16 x 4-inch floor tom completes the set. Since we're talking about a virgin bass drum, you also get two MC69 tom clamps with the set so you can hang the toms on a stand. The entire set is finished with an Indigo Sparkle wrap.

The shells in this set are made of numerous plies of maple. The snare and toms have 6 plies, and the bass drum has eight. Maple is known for producing a warm sound with good, resounding bass tones. Tama's Precision bearing edges are featured on the shells, which help produce a full, open sound. The Sound Bridge High-Tension lugs and the Star-Cast Mounting System on the toms have minimal contact with the shell, which maximises resonance. A rubber layer on the inside of the bass drum claw hooks protects them from damages and minimises unwanted vibration noises while you're playing.

Black Nickel shell hardware

This drum set features Black Nickel shell hardware. Strong die-cast hoops ensure consistent drumhead tuning, along with a sharp attack and plenty of clarity in the high registers. They also make for strong rimshots.
