David King

Musician and professor David King started getting trumpet and cornet lessons from his father when he was 8 years old. Once he was a teen he began studying at the Sydney Conservatorium, followed by studies in brass pedagogy and performance. In 1981 King became the cornet champion of Australia, and it didn't stop there, because King went on to win one cornet championship after another in Great Britain. In the '90s he switched gears to focus on conducting, until 2003 when King became a cornet consultant for Yamaha.
