1963 was an important year for the Fender Stratocaster. Popular music styles like surf and rock n' roll made frequent use of this legendary guitar model's famous spank. This Custom Shop Relic is based on an original solid-body from '63. It has even undergone an ageing process to make it as authentic as possible. The Olympic White model has an alder body with a solid quarter sawn maple neck bolted on to it. The neck features a comfortable mid-'60s oval C profile. Both the neck and fretboard are laminated. On the latter you will find clay dot position markers.

Whilst it might look similar to a Stratocaster RW, this cream white Custom Shop guitar's full and balanced sound has a little more punch thanks to the 9.5-inch fretboard radius. Twenty-one narrow jumbo frets add to the superior playing comfort. Three hand-wound Custom Shop single-coil pickups deliver the kind of authentic sound you would expect from a '63 Strat. In order to minimise hum when the 5-way pickup switch is in position two or four, the middle pickup has been reverse wound with reverse polarity.
