Keeping things exclusive, the Hagstrom Ultra Max Special takes a classic, single-cut solid mahogany body, finishes it with an arched maple top and loads it with three Lundgren Design double-coils with a unique 'foil' cover. A Model 52 Alnico Mini humbucker has been sandwiched between a Model 05 at the bridge and Model 02 at the neck, the output of which can be varied via a five-way switch, which scrolls through single-coil as well as double-coil voicings. Outlined by white binding from the lower bout to the headstock, this model means far more than just serious business.
