Built according to the preferences of prog-metal guitarist John Browne, the Schecter TAO-7 is an adaptable seven-string monster disguised as an elegantly clean axe boasting a purple paint-job. The lightweight swamp ash body has a super-S-style shape and comes topped with a layer of maple veneer for bonus cool points, while for compelling playability, Brown has opted for an ultra-thin U-profile neck that's been carved from a mix of wenge and padauk, and comes finished with an ebony fretboard lined with twenty-four X-Jumbo frets - the last few of which are fully accessible thanks to an extra-deep carve where the body is bolted to the neck.

Fuss-Free Yet Forceful

In terms of controls, the John Browne TAO-7 features nothing but a 3-way pickup switch and a push/pull master volume control that can be used to coil-split the Colossus 7 and Chaosbreaker 7 humbuckers. While developed first and foremost for metal-heads, this Schecter electric guitar effortlessly takes on other styles and has not only been equipped with carbon rods to firm up the stability, but Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners, a fixed Hipshot bridge and a GraphTech XL nut.
