The Gretsch G6139TCB Falcon Center-Block Single Cutaway Black is an extremely impressive semi-acoustic guitar. This new version of the famous Falcon design has a beautiful curved body made of 3-piece maple and features two f-holes. As you would expect, the sound and playability of this guitar matches its looks. This is, in part, thanks to the Center Block.

Center Block

The Center Block runs along the length of the body and offers a number of advantages. The block is made of spruce which adds a lively tone. To keep it lightweight, the block has been chambered. The pinned wood base of the bridge extends over the sides of the center block, which benefits the transfer of string vibrations to the sound holes, resulting in a full-bodied sound. Finally, the block reduces body-resonant feedback which enables you to play with more gain.

Other characteristics

The neck is made of 3-ply maple and its ebony fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets. The pickups - two High Sensitive Filter'Trons - are placed near the bridge and the neck and provide you with a choice of three different configurations. The master volume, master tone and volume of the two pickups can be easily adjusted. The guitar comes complete with a sturdy G6267 Deluxe Hardshell guitar case.
