If you love the sound of a vintage dreadnought, but like all the advantages of a new electro-acoustic guitar, Ibanez' AVD9CE could be perfect for you. This model from the Artwood Vintage series has a Thermo Aged solid Sitka spruce top and a Thermo Aged spruce X bracing which have both undergone a special treatment which dries out the wood giving it more volume and an enhanced frequency range. Add in the sweet mid-range accents from the mahogany neck, back and sides and you have a great-sounding instrument.
AVD9CE: more features
The AVD9CE's neck has a comfortable soft V profile and all of the frets are easily accessible thanks to the handy cutaway on the body. The bridge saddle and string nut are both made of bone which enhances the transference of the string vibrations to the body and even small details like the bridge pins have been looked at. This electro-acoustic has Ibanez Advantage bridge pins that are not only secure, they're easier to put in and take out as well. When you want to amplify the AVD9CE, you can rely on the Fishman Sonicore pickup and the Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamplifier. As well as having a handy built-in tuner, the preamp also has bass, treble and volume controls for tweaking the sound to perfection. You've even got the choice of connecting to an amp via a balanced XLR or a mono jack output.
