Marshall 1962HW Bluesbreaker Handwired combo
Descrizione
This hand-soldered, full-tube Marshall 1962HW is an accurate reproduction of the classic Series II 1962 combo form the sixties. The legendary 30-watt, 2-channel guitar amplifier was introduced in 1965 and owes its name to Eric Clapton, who was part of the most influential blues band at the time: John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
Marshall 1962: true to the original
The circuit layout of the 1962HW is an exact copy of the first production series of the amplifier and consists of four ECC83 valves in the preamp, two KT66 valves in the power stage and a GZ34 rectifier. The housing of this reissue is bigger to accommodate the grand sound to the KT66s, bringing the overall sound of the 1962HW much closer to Marshall's original than previous reissues.
Valve tremolo and Celestion Greenbacks
It's the GZ34 rectifier that produces the delightful compression in the power stage and the distinctively clean sustain of a sixties Bluesbreaker. To make the 1962HW as authentic as possible, Marshall re-introduced the valve-driven tremolo. Moreover, this amp is equipped with point-to-point strip boards with original gauges and hole distances and even Drake transformers. Crucial components to achieve the authentic sound are the speakers, which is why the 1962HW is fitted with two 12-inch Celestion Greenbacks with alnico magnets.
About the Handwired series
Marshall's Handwired-series amplifiers were made to be as authentic as possible, both in look and tone. To re-create the look, feel and tone of the highly coveted original models, Marshall's team of engineers did what they could to find and/or reproduce original components and materials, while revising the original construction methods to comply with modern safety standards. Down from the hand-wired strip board circuits up to the specially made Drake transformers.
