To complete a set of congas, much like toms on an acoustic kit, varied tone is essential. The quinto has a smaller head diameter for a higher tone and, since the Latin Percussion LP522Z-D is finished in very particular and luxurious Durian wood, it's even 25% lighter than that of the Classic Series and has been crafted for touring percussionists.

Light and Full

Durian wood comes from the fruit tree of the same name and shapes a similar sound to mahogany. Since durian is lighter, it also boasts a quality of resonance unique to this species of wood, giving the LP522Z-D quinto a wide and warm tonal character that will easily sit on top of the mix during solos while offering more than enough definition to settle into the sound of the rhythm section of the band.
