The Z.Vex Lo-Fi Loop Junky is a far cry from any looper you'll have ever encountered before. Record a loop of up to 20 secs, and it'll sound like you laid it down on a beaten up cassette. Any frequencies that rise over the 2.6kHz mark are mercilessly capped, a nice mess of noise is thrown in using the depth pot, and then you can stick the lot through a little vibrato and tweak the level for a sweet, old-school chorus that gives you access to an onstage overdubbed effect.

The founder of Z-Vex Effects, Zachary Vex, is no stranger to the land of innovative effect building - in fact he's renowned. By mounting one of these hand-painted stompboxes onto your board, you're joining forces with the many revered guitarists who have done it before you. Each pedal has been handmade by Zachary's self-appointed elves (so he says), and while these hand-painted editions are much sought after, you can also get your grubby mitts on the same sound quality from the screen-printed Vexter Series pedals for a little less cash.
