Properties of the Beyerdynamic MCE 85 BA
The MCE 85 series features two models. This BA version of the electret condenser microphone can be powered by one AA battery (as well as with a phantom power supply). A special DC/DC converter ensures that the performance will always hold up, even when the battery is nearing the end of its life. The lobe pickup pattern (super-cardioid) ensures highly directional recording. A frequency range of 34 Hz - 19 kHz make it ideal for the aforementioned occasions, and any possible lower frequencies can be shut out with the low-cut switch.
