The Audio Technica ATW-1701/P is a wireless lavalier microphone system for cameras that operates on the 2.4GHz frequency band. It is a part of the System 10 series, which is characterised by extremely stable signal transfers. Moreover, the ATW-1701/P is easy to use. Place two AA batteries in the bodypack transmitter and connect the accessory ATR35cW lavalier microphone to it. This sensitive microphone is provided with a 1.4m cable and you can clamp it to a jack or sweater. The sound goes to the accessory ATW-R1700 receiver (can be charged via the power adapter), which is mounted on the hot shoe of your camera and is connected to the camera via a 3.5mm cable.

ATW-1701/P: intelligent signal transfers

Under the hood of the ATW-1701/P, you will find a lot of intelligent technology, so that the user can be provided with stable wireless audio transfers. It works with a three-way version of the renowned Diversity Principle. Furthermore, Frequency Diversity ensures that the signal is transmitted over two frequencies, while Space Diversity concerns sending said signal to and fro two antennas. Finally, Time Diversity transmits the signal in two different time slots. Interference does not stand a chance against all these defences! The fact that the world-wide 2.4GHz frequency band is used, also adds to this.
