Roland seems to have caught a bad case of Eurorack fever. In addition to their System-1m - the name itself an obvious reference to the vintage System-100 modular synthesizer - the Japanese manufacturer has issued the System-500 series, offering even more modular versatility. With the System-500, you can decide for yourself how many modules you'd like to collect. The Roland System-500 512 VCO Eurorack module takes care of your oscillator needs. Besides two oscillators with square wave (with adjustable pulse width and modulation), triangle and sawtooth outputs, it offers oscillator sync. Octave, finetuning and modulation level can be adjusted per oscillator.

Roland System-500 512 VCO: a modular system

Like any System-500 module, the 512 VCO won't rule your productions all by itself. A good, flexible modular system is made up of several modules; have them interact, and the magic truly happens. The Roland System-500 512 VCO Eurorack module allows you to synthesise sound without navigating menus - all you need for your sonic experiments are a few mini jack patch cables. There are no presets to choose from, but with eight faders, four knobs and two switches at your disposal, you'll be able to let your creativity run free. The architecture of your sound is determined by means of patch cables - something you can't do with a conventional synthesizer.
