The cymbals from Meinl's Byzance series are individually hand-crafted. The B10DAS is a 10-inch Dark Splash made of B20 bronze, which consists of 80% copper and 20% tin. It has an extra dark finish, which makes it look as if it's been lying outside in the rain for years on end. Luckily, that is far from true, as the dark finish was carefully and purposefully applied by Meinl.

Of course, the finish impacts the sound of this Byzance splash cymbal. It has a powerful, sharp attack with a short sustain, and it has a dark, esoteric core tone - a reflection of its raw surface. The sound of the B10DAS splash does not go to extremes, allowing you to use it in any number of music styles and drumming setups. Even better, every Byzance cymbal is hand-crafted to give it a unique sound, so no splash will sound exactly the same as yours.
