A rubber floor mat usually suffices, but not if the cables are crossed by cars or forklifts. Of course, you'd probably rather not have a mat in the audience if the cables lead through the room.

The overlay can be combined with the Defender Compact underlay or you can just use the overlay with the cables underneath it. The cabletray is three centimetres wide and high so it'll fit the thickest cables.
