In 1950, Leo Fender sparked a revolution in the world of guitars by introducing the first-ever fully solid-body electric guitar. Originally, it was named the Broadcaster, but early 1951 Fender was told to change the name as it resembled that of Gretsch's Broadkaster drums too much. Factory employees simply removed the logo on the headstock and for a short period in time these guitar were sold without a name, only sporting the Fender logo. These Nocasters have become virtually unaffordable, as only 500 of them were produced before they were given the name Telecaster.

Construction

This 2001 Nocaster is an exact replica of the sought-after Nocasters from 1951. It is made by hand in Fender's factory in Corona California. Everything from the two-part lightweight ash body to the hefty neck with a '50s-style U profile is period correct. The Closet Classic Nocaster neck pickup as well as the Closet Classic Broadcaster pickup at the bridge are accurate replicas of the original pickups and were made to imitate the original sound as closely as possible. The hardware is also made according to period specifications.

Closet Classic

This guitar isn't a dime a dozen model that's been on a date with a sander, its a carefully crafted replica of the greatly coveted 1951 Nocaster. Its bridge has a Fender Pat. Pend. and serial number stamp, as was the standard of the day. Its special Closet Classic lacquer has an aged look with a natural Craquelure.
