The Postmodern Stratocaster from Fender's American Custom Shop is a guitar that doesn't belong to any particular time period or design. Instead, the NOS Strat brings together the best design elements from six decades of Fender guitars in one high-quality instrument. What you get is a classic ergonomic design full of modern technology. The NOS Strat has a quarter sawn maple neck with a compound fretboard radius. This makes playing chords easier and means that strings pressed during solos aren't cut off prematurely. A lightweight ash body has been chosen to give this Stratocaster its characteristic bright sound. The body has a thin nitrocellulose lacquer that lets the wood breathe. With the Postmodern NOS Strat you get the best of old and new combined.

Custom Shop Postmodern Stratocaster: sound

The Stratocaster's versatility has always set it apart from other models. This particular model has some clever features of its own that make a wide range of sounds accessible. The Postmodern NOS Strat is fitted with three extra-wound Custom Shop Fat '60's single-coil pickups for a bit of extra output. The middle pickup is reverse wound with reverse polarity to prevent the well-known 60-cycle hum when the 5-way pickup switch is in position 2 or 4. So that the sound remains clear even when the volume is turned lower, the volume potentiometer features a Tone Saver treble-bleed circuit.

Postmodern NOS series

With the Postmodern Series, the Fender Custom Shop's goal is to produce classic guitar models like the Stratocaster and Telecaster with the latest features. All of the models have a round laminated fretboard made of maple or rosewood, with a compound radius that goes from 9.5 to 12 inches for optimal playing comfort. The NOS versions have a 'New Old Stock' finish. This means that you get a modern electric guitar with the characteristics of a vintage guitar, without the visual wear and tear of the Relic models. The Postmodern NOS Strat comes with a luxury case, CruzTools Toolkit, certificate of authenticity and other accessories.
