Fender EC Tremolux Eric Clapton signature guitar amplifier
Descrizione
Singer and blues guitarist Eric Clapton has been a member of the Fender family for years. In addition to his famous Stratocasters he also often employs classic Fender guitar amplifiers. This is why these two music-industry legends have collaborated to create a signature amplifier. The result is the Fender EC Tremolux, a 1x 12-inch tube combo, modelled after the 1957 Tweed Deluxe, featuring Clapton's personal extras. It is the Vibro-Champ's bigger brother, hand-made in America with first-class components.
Characteristics of the Fender EC Tremolux
The Fender Eric Clapton Tremolux is a 1-channel tube amplifier with both a low and a high-gain input. It has straightforward controls, with a single volume and one tone control. A special feature of this model is the addition of a '50s-style tube-driven tremolo effect of which you can adjust the speed with the speed knob. This effect can also be switched on and off with the optional foot switch. Additionally, this amplifier is equipped with a high/low switch, a power attenuator that'll reduce the output of the speaker to create more distortion at lower volumes.
Construction and components
This amplifier is made with first-class components. It features Mercury Magnetics transformers in the power stage and the 12-inch Celestion speaker has a maximum power of 65 watts, retaining the definition of the high-gain overdrive. At the heart of the Fender EC Tremolux there are three 12AX7 tubes in the preamp, two 6V6GC power amp Groove Tubes and a 5Y3GT rectifier tube. All of this is neatly tucked away in a finger-joined solid-pine housing for a warm, resonant tone. Of course the combo was adorned with a traditional lacquered tweed finish with brown detailing.
