This gem from the Fender Factory Special Run series is only available as a limited edition, but Bax-shop has managed to stock one. This natural-coloured Fender FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Custom is modelled after an early '70s Telecaster. The Custom version is distinguishable from the others by the humbucker in the neck position and its large pickguard with dual volume and tone controls. For this highly limited edition the guitar was fitted with a rosewood fretboard instead of the traditional maple one.

Characteristics of the FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Custom

Unlike the black version, this natural-coloured guitar features an ash body that is light of weight and beautifully grained. Also, ash produces fewer mid tones, leaving the emphasis on the basses and trebles. The American Vintage Telecaster Custom is an authentic reissue of the original in every conceivable way, from its 21 vintage frets and convex 7.25-inch fretboard radius to its period-correct three-point neck mount with Micro-Tilt adjust and '70s-style Bullet truss rod nut on the headstock.

Single-coil and Wide Range humbucker

The FSR American Vintage '72 Telecaster Custom is equipped with both a single-coil pickup in the bridge position and a Fender Wide Range humbucker at the neck. The humbucker was redesigned and revoiced after the sound of the original pickup and produces the rich, broad and clean sound of a single-coil with the warmth and output of a humbucker, making it suitable for virtually any type of music, from country, jazz and blues to modern rock and metal. Both pickups have their own volume and tone control for extra versatility.
