It looks, sounds and feels like a high-end American Stratocaster, but this guitar was made in Japan. The Fender STR-FR CRS is a modern superstrat that you can usually only buy in Japan but which is now available in Europe as a very limited edition. This model is characterised by its extremely stable double locking tremolo bridge with locking nut, its versatile HSS pickup configuration, its fast 22-fret maple neck and its beautiful Cherry Sunburst finish.

Fender Japan STR-FR CRS: construction and pickups

The body of this Japanese Stratocaster was made of alder, which is light of weight and produces a rich, full sound. Its neck is bolted on to the body and made of a single piece of maple, featuring 22 super jumbo frets and a flat radius for effortless bends. Pickup-wise, this Fender Japan STR-FR is equipped with two tight, clear single-coils in the neck and middle position, plus a powerful fat humbucker at the bridge. It is a Strat of all trades and brilliant in all of them.
