Fender's Coronado bass guitar is back. It is a bass with a special history and the ideal instrument for bass players who are looking for something other than the standard Fender bass guitar. Half way through the sixties, the famous guitar manufacturer issued the Coronado series, its first ever electric hollow-body guitars ever, and these special guitars quickly became very popular. Today, the Coronado name is once again fully present within Fender's Modern Player series and the guitars feature an improved tone, build and even better looks.

Fender Modern Player Coronado Bass Black: Center-Block

The thin semi-hollow maple body of the Coronado bass guitar has an alder Center Block, a solid wooden beam in the middle of the body that spans the entire length, dividing it into two large tone chambers as it were. This greatly reduces feedback and provides the bass guitar with more tone and sustain. One of the most striking features on the top are the characteristic f-shaped sound holes that feature the same bindings as the guitar's front and back. The C-shaped neck of this semi-acoustic guitar is also made of maple and has a rosewood fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and beautiful mother-of-pearl inlay position markers. The guitar features chrome hardware and the Fender Coronado logo on its headstock.

Pickups

The black Fender Modern Player Coronado Bass is equipped with two Fideli'Tron humbucker pickups and a three-position pickup switch. It has four controls (volume and tone for each pickup) that bring to mind the knobs of many an amplifier. Vintage style! Additionally, this Fender Coronado guitar features an Adjusto-Matic bridge with a floating F trapeze tailpiece and a durable three-layer black pickguard to protect the body.

It is a beautiful semi-acoustic bass guitar by Fender, and has excellent tonal properties that make it well-suited for jazz, country, blues and rock 'n' roll.
