At first glance, this Ibanez SR300-BWK bass guitar doesn't look particularly special. Look a bit closer though and you'll see that it's packed with extremely useful innovations. The mahogany SR-style body produces a warm sound with lots of body and sustain. The SR300 has the renowned SR-4 neck which in this case is made of 5-ply mahogany and rosewood. The body is finished in a stylish black satin lacquer. As you'd expect from Ibanez, the finish is faultless and the hardware feels very solid. Add to this solid foundation the excellent pickups and hardware and you've got yourself one highly desirable instrument.

SR300-BWK: Hardware and electronics

The understated appearance of the SR300 is continued in the hardware and electronics. But again, if you look a bit closer you'll see two Ibanez CAP EXF-N2 pickups with a striking curved shape are fitted. These pickups are a good example of the common sense Ibanez uses when making its instruments. The curved shape ensures that the distance between the pickup and the string is the same in any position, so that there is no discernible difference in volume. A 3-band active equalizer allows you to shape your sound in many ways. Finally, the Accucast B120 bridge's ingenious design means that this bass can handle the thickest bass guitar strings.
