The tamborim is a percussion instrument that you play with a plastic stick, while your other hand controls the instrument's pitch. This percussive instrument is mainly suited for South American music styles, and it has a distinctly loud, bright and penetrating sound.

Meinl offers a wide range of different tamborims, of which this is the chrome version. The tamborim is equipped with the Floatune tuning system with countersunk spanners at the rims.
