This is a Tama Starclassic Performer shell set in a beautiful Vintage Green Sparkle finish, ideal for drummers who don't confine themselves to a single genre. It has a 22-inch bass drum, a 14 and a 16-inch floor tom, and finally two smaller toms: 10 x 6.5-inch and 12 x 7-inch. This set has a hybrid character, as its shells are made of birch and bubinga. Bubinga is an African wood type, that is on average 53% harder than maple and birch, providing a well-emphasised low end, while the birch provides excellent attack.

The bass drum of this Vintage Green Sparkle shell set is what they call a 'virgin' bass drum, which means it does not have a tom mount. Instead, you get two separate tom holders, that are easily attached to your cymbal stands. Not only does that give you more freedom to create the perfect set-up, but it also enhances tom resonance, while giving the bass drum a more powerful low end. Furthermore, this kit in Volcanic Burst has zinc die-cast hoops, instead of the common triple-flanged hoops. These hoops don't just create a sharper attack and clear highs, but they also allow for more powerful rimshots and, more importantly, they make sure your tuning stays consistent.

Claw hooks and bass drum legs

The 22-inch bass drum of this Starclassic Performer kit in Vintage Green Sparkle is equipped with sturdy claw hooks that have a rubber lining. This lining minimises the chance of the hooks damaging your bass drum hoops. Furthermore, the bass drum legs are Air Cushioned, which means that they have a special air chamber that prevents the sound and sustain of your bass drum from disappearing into the ground, while another advantage is that they are shock absorbing.
