With the Yamaha SC-B0F5-SB Stage Custom Birch, Yamaha shows us once again why their products are known for their outstanding price/quality ratio. For an extremely affordable price the ambitious beginner or advanced drummer can get an outstanding drum set delivered. This is the Studio/Fusion version from the Stage Custom series with a more compact 20-inch bass drum and 14-inch floor tom for a lighter sound. It looks good too, with its attractive Sapphire Blue finish.
Yamaha SC-B0F5SB: sensitive yet powerful
The shells of the Yamaha are made of 100% birch - a wood typically used in high-quality drum sets for it clear, balanced sound qualities. Moreover, the wood is laminated 6-ply, which ensures that the sensitive shells deliver a powerful volume. Additionally, the bass drum features extra portholes, so more excess air can escape to obtain a better beater response.
The hardware
The Yamaha Stage Custom Birch drum set is delivered with a snare, two toms, a floor tom and a kick drum with a pedal. To go along with the drums, you also get rugged stands with large anti-slip rubber feet. The toms are mounted via the YESS system, which means that they're mounted in such a way as to create minimal mount-to-shell contact to ensure maximum vibration. The ball mount and clamp also work to ensure easy and flexible positioning.
