The Tomahawk snare is included with the Mapex Armory series shell sets as a standard feature, but of course, this snare is also separately available. Mapex Armory Tomahawk snare drum: elegance
The 1mm thick shell of the Tomahawk is made of steel and has a black-plated finish. It is equipped with 2.3mm Power Hoops and chrome hardware. The 45-degree bearing edge ensures great sustain and resonance, while the consistent tuning of the snare is owed to the Armory tube lugs, that also provide extra stability for the shell. Besides that, these carefully crafted tube lugs also add to the Tomahawk's elegant appearance.
The Piston strainer and vertical throw-off of this 14 x 5.5-inch snare drum are quick and easy to use and ensure that the tension on the snare wires stays as consistent as possible.
