Despite what its name suggests, tulipwood has little to do with flowers and is actually a strong yet lightweight type of wood that lends itself to easy wood and therefore, drum crafting. For the construction of the shell, Natal used six plies of tulipwood, which has resulted in a dry sound with heaps of focus and full-bodied resonance. Finished with a beautiful walnut inlay and satin-gloss lacquer, this 14 x 6.5-inch snare is suitable for virtually every style of music.

Tri-Throw Spanner and Sun Lugs

As professional quality snare drums befit, the Tulipwood Series models feature some of the same hardware that comes fitted to Natal's flagship Originals Series. The Tri-Throw spanner, for starters, not only lets you turn it 'off' and 'on', but offers a third in-between setting for a softer snare sound. Another characteristic addition are the round lugs with sun-shaped logo, while Tru-Tune tension rods combine with Evans drumheads for tight tuning. As a matter of fact, even the 45-degree bearing edges have been made by hand!
