Ever since 1989, Pearl has been making drum shells that consists of a single ply of wood. For the unusual MCM1465S/C102, they gently steam-bent a single piece of 7.5mm-thick maple. This impressive feat of craftsmanship resulted in a beautifully warm-sounding shell with excellent resonance and a unique level of projection. Pearl describes it as an 'organic' sound that is clearly audible in studios, theatres and in concert halls alike. Furthermore, the One Piece Maple's impressive finish shows off the maple's natural beauty. This 14 x 6.5-inch snare drum also comes with a luxury Genuine Leather Carrying Bag, which will keep your instrument safe for years to come.

Shell hardware

If the shell is as special as this one, then the hardware can't lag behind. Both the top and bottom of the drum are fitted with MasterCast hoops. These hoops are die-cast, meaning they have no structural weak spots and evenly distribute the tension over the entire drumhead. In this, they are helped by the ten CL-65 lugs and the T-062 tension rods. Finally, the S-022N snare wires can be tightened using the SR-017 snare strainer.
