Simon Phillips is not exactly known for his modest kit configurations and can often be seen sitting behind not one, not two, but three snares. As the name may have already suggested, 'The Monarch' is born to serve as a main snare and, of all three of the Phillips Signature models, is certainly the boss. This less-than-humble snare gets its unbelievable, high-impact sound from a unique combo of maple and bubinga woods.

The shell of this regal signature snare has been made from a total of eight plies of alternating maple and bubinga wood to shape a deliciously snapping sound with enormous depth and exacting detail. While this is obviously great for arena-rock, this snare also lends itself well to calmer passages where every detail, nuance, and even 'ghost-note' demands presence and life (an absolute essential if you're a member of Toto). This ruler among snares comes including a set of pre-installed Remo Ambassador heads and a drum key.
