Finished in a lighter silver as a nod to the '90s Trinity and Triton, this all-new synth blows a fresh breeze over the series. Naturally, there's a lot more to be found under the bonnet, including nine sound engines with a specific sound each. That's so much better considering all of the instruments used to come from one solid sample ROM. For FM sounds, you need a real FM engine and not a handful of sampled E-Pianos and for a sweet-sounding organ, you want a real tone wheel engine and not that sampled B3 stuff. That's why the Kronos is fitted with the best engine for each specific sound, and it's the reason why it's a monster of a stage and studio synth that might take a little longer to get to know.

When it comes to practical matters, you can tell that Korg already pack a number of decades of experience in building the kind of synthesizers/workstations used by industry legends. They're realised that the days of small displays with a few menu options are over and as such, have thoughtfully integrated a large touch-screen colour display in the Kronos. Of course, a small army of physical buttons and knobs stills helps you wage sonic war and the backside is still home to a large collection of ports, including DIN-MIDI, USB-MIDI, balanced and unbalanced jack outputs, line/mic inputs (jack) and pedal inputs. It's not because the amazing sound quality that many professional keyboard players will make eager use of this machine, it's because literally everything about the Kronos Titanium is good!
