WaveLab has formed the mastering audio software corner of the Steinberg empire for almost a quarter of a century and the latest, freshest, tenth edition of WaveLab Pro offers a nice, mouthwatering fistful of power-ups. The Reference Track function provides easy A-B-ing with another track (i.e. a reference track) - something you're always going to need - and the reference track can even be routed to a specific output of your audio interface. Video is supported, suddenly making this software excellent for soundtrack mastering and, if you're the lucky owner of an extensive audio interface packed with inputs and output (or at least enough to create an effect-loop), then you can even send external effects through WaveLab. External editors like SpectraLayers or iZotope RX can now be used within WaveLab, opening things up for broader productions like recording live-streams and rendering. Of course, there are a few more subtle, yet just as effective little upgrades included like the addition of an undo/redo history.
