If you're still looking for a powerful workstation with an oriental sonic flavour, then look no further than the Korg Pa4X Oriental 61 PaAS arranger workstation. The Pa4X offers you everything you could wish for in a workstation, from a large colour display to a wide array of top-quality sounds and tasteful styles. Workstations usually don't have built-in speakers, as they're often intended for musicians with their own PA systems. However, this version of the Pa4X Oriental comes with the PaAS system, Korg's own keyboard speakers, which is a big plus for home users in particular.

The vast number of different sounds this workstation has to offer is hard to grasp—suffice it to say you won't be bored for a good while. With over ten times the sound capacity of earlier models in the series, the Pa4X is the absolute flagship model. What's more, if you want to use your own sounds (samples), then it has 400 MBs of RAM available for you to save those on, turning it into a timeless product that can sound however you want it to sound. The styles are also definitely worth mentioning, full of great fills and variations, and of course there are plenty of oriental-inspired ones available. Finally, we shouldn't forget the excellent sound engine, which brings you all kinds of different sounds, including those excellent Middle-Eastern inspired sounds (such as various flutes, for instance).
Additional options
It’s impossible to list all of the Korg Pa4X’s many features in a single paragraph, but we would like to point out a few highlights. MP3 and MIDI files can be easily played back. It’s even possible to play back two files simultaneously, in which case a crossfader determines the balance between the two. In addition to a collection of great sounds and the option to import your own samples - which basically makes this a timeless instrument - you get a number of fantastic effects. Renowned names like TC-Helicon and Waves should tell you all you need to know. Accompany your own singing, for instance, while the Pa4X creates a nice vocal harmony and enhances your intonation. In the meantime, allow Waves to take charge of mastering - it’ll add a professional touch to your performance.
