The Markbass TTE 800 is the Signature model of bassist, singer and successful producer Randy Jackson, also known as jury member of American Idol. This bass amplifier head is the big brother of the TTE 500 as it's much more powerful with its 800 watts. The TTE800 is a hybrid amplifier with a tube preamp and a digital power amp. This results in a top with a warm and dynamic vintage tube sound but one that is more reliable, lighter in weight and easier to maintain than a full-tube amplifier.
Markbass TTE 800: modern classic
That typical vintage vibe of the TTE 800 is accomplished thanks to functions like a power amp driven by three 12AX7 tubes and a compressor driven by a 12AT7 tube. This head also has a simple yet effective 3-band EQ and a special colour filter, based on the famous Markbass VLE control but with the difference that the filter is tube-driven. All of this is amplified by means of a powerful 800-watt power amp that is equipped with the innovative Tube Technology Emulator (TTE).

Randy Jackson has worked with Carlos Santana, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Zucchero and Mariah Carey, among others. For a long time, he also worked as a session musician for many different artists. During his career, Randy Jackson gained a lot of knowledge and experience which eventually lead to the design of the TTE by Markbass. It has the best of both worlds: the warmth and dynamics of tubes and the reliability and limited weight (only 6 kg) of a digital amp.
