In the mid-fifties, Gibson was on the hunt for a special tonewood to match the futuristic design of the Flying V and Explorer models that would be revealed later in 1958. The responsibility fell on the capable shoulders of korina: a high-quality tonewood that has similar features to mahogany and just as stylish a look. Now, those original 1958 models are incredibly rare beasts, but thanks to Epiphone you can now get hold of one of them in the form of a faithful remake. Each model is a Limited Edition and comes pre-wrapped in a hard case, so you can be certain that these throwback treats will be sought after.
