The story behind Modal Electronics is one of passion. Founder Paul Maddox is a huge fan of PGG Wave synthesizers and decided to build his own. Over the years, he built up lots of experience and eventually designed his own dream synth, the 002. It's a 12-voice polyphonic synthesizer with a full size keyboard. After that, came the 008, a polysynth with a fully analogue signal path. Both of these synths are also available as rack-mountable versions. The top-end models are probably more than most synth fans need which is why Modal Electronics also have two compact models. Both the Skultp and the smaller Craft Synth 2.0 are packed full of possibilities and, thanks to the MIDI connectors, are easy to integrate into any studio or live setup. Both can also be powered by batteries which means you can use them almost anywhere. You can even link multiple models together giving you more polyphonic possibilities.
