Roland Present the Fantom 2.0 Firmware Update
For even fatter, even more enhanced, synth-based fun, Roland serve up a big firmware update for the Fantom 6, 7, and 8 synthesizer series. Version 2.0 provides multi-sampling support, fresh effects, sequencing, and a generally sharper, smoother, and streamlined workflow.
The Roland Fantom 2.0 Update
Firmware version 2.0 is available to anyone who is already the proud owner of a Roland Fantom 6,7, or 8, and by offering this update, Roland seek to inject even more power into the already breathtakingly potent ZEN-Core Synthesis System at the heart of every Fantom. The sampling engine has undergone an in-depth revision, so you can now sample directly to the keyboard, or build multi-samples. These can even be edited in the synth and used as a foundation for any oscillator or partial of a bespoke ZEN-Core sound. Basically, this update blows the roof off the sound-design potential.
TFX Processing
In this update, the master section has also been gifted with a TFX (total effect) processor in addition to the master compressor and EQ you already have. The TFX processor introduces deep-diving sound-sculpting power with 90 different effects that can be applied to the master output. The full-colour touchscreen also gets a few sweet little tweaks, so you can now actually draw in automation and customise with multiple gestures. This update is now available directly from the official Roland website.
