Sequential Pro 3 - New Wavetables
A little while back, Dave Smith's Sequential released a fat pair of synthesizers: the Pro 3 and Pro 3 SE. These hulking mono-synths packed a sizeable bank of tweak-worthy parameters, rivalling the potential of most polysynths, and now, exclusively for these sound-design monsters, there's an entirely free and entirely fresh update available!
New Wavetables
If you've already scanned the specs of the Pro 3 and 3 SE, then you'll already know that these synths pack two VCOs and a wavetable oscillator. Now, a further 32 wavetables have been made available, all of them from various different sources, including the Fairlight IIx, and to fully demonstrate these 32 wavetables, 128 new preset sounds have also been packed in with the deal. Yet again, all of this underlines the fact that modern synthesizers are able to offer much more than older synths - even looking beyond the decades of collected dust and the irreplaceable components that come with genuine vintage models, the bonus here is that you're able to breathe fresh life into the Pro 3 synths - for free and without fiddling with any of the hardware. Even when it comes to modern synthesis, that used to be something you just couldn't do without forking out for the latest model.
