Taking things to the next level, Tascam presents the powerful Portacapture X8: an 8-track handheld recorder with Bluetooth support, enabling in-depth control via an iOS or Android smart device.
Multifaceted Handheld Recording
The more traditional control panel and menu layout has been replaced with a full-colour touchscreen display that's used to navigate the 'Launcher'. This slick app-style interface accommodates quick preset selection and parameter adjustments, completely removing the faff involved in scrolling through seemingly endless menus. But the Portacapture can also be controlled via a smartphone or tablet using the compatible Tascam Bluetooth adapter (sold separately). The Portacapture X8 is probably Tascam's most powerful handheld multi-track recorder to date, and while it's definitely designed for the field, it can also be hooked up to a computer via USB-C to serve as an audio interface.
